We had a wonderful human fresh frozen cadaver course on 1-2 September 2023 at RMK AIMES Training Centre in Istanbul. Course faculty included mentors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, UK and Turkey. Participants were from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Turkey. We used one torso cadaver and during first day we performed robotic radical prostatectomy course with pelvic lymph node dissection and robotic cystectomy with intracorporeal ileal loop formation. Second day included robotic upper urinary tract surgery course with performing robotic partial nephrectomy, nephrectomy and pyeloplasty. Mentors shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants and each other that enabled participants to learn different approaches and tips & tricks.

As head of urology faculty and Kuwait residency program, and as a uro-oncologist and robotic surgeon, I have travelled to multiple international minimally invasive training centers with our residents for training. The robotic urology courses that we organized at RMK AIMES on human fresh frozen cadavers were by far the best we have ever seen. The feedback from our residents was outstanding with extensive hands-on experience. As one of the cadaver course instructors, I am extremely grateful to the whole faculty for their kind invitation and generous hospitality. I hope this will be the start of a long-term collaboration between our institutions.

Today we complete our contribution at RMK AIMES Simulation Center in Istanbul with the upper tract robotic surgery course. In this course we had 5 young urologists from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. They performed several operations in the cadaver model including pyeloplasty, partial nephrectomy and radical nephrectomy.
I shared faculty with very recognized world level urologists and robotic surgeons.
Excellent presentations.
During the course we had the opportunity to talk about our experiences and to plan future collaborations.
Virtual simulators were also available during the course for trainees and faculty.

I had the privilege of being an instructor at the recent robotic course held at RMK AIMES in Istanbul on September 1st and 2nd, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The course venue itself was outstanding, providing a world-class training center that was not only well-equipped but also conducive to effective learning.
One of the standout aspects of this course was the high caliber of my esteemed faculty colleagues. Their expertise and dedication to teaching made a significant impact on the attendees’ learning experience. The feedback we received from the trainees was excellent, underscoring the quality of the content and instruction provided.
I also want to express my appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to all participants. The organizers and staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcomed and comfortable throughout the event.
I’m genuinely excited about the prospect of collaborating more in the future, building on the success of this course. Special thanks to Dr. A. Erdem Canda and the entire department at Koç University Hospital for their invaluable support and contributions to making this event a resounding success. Here’s to continued growth and excellence in the field of robotic surgery!

I’d like to thank you for the wonderful course I attended in Istanbul.
The course was well organized and incredibly beneficial for doctors on their journey to robotic surgery training. Doing full robotic surgery on cadavers under the supervision of pioneers in this field was really helpful. It is really beneficial when an expert walks you through the steps of the procedure step by step and shares their experience.
I wish you all the best.
I highly recommend this course.
Best regards…
