During our course, trainees had a video presentation on EAU EBLUS exercises and their details. Then, hands-on laparoscopy training box exercises with EBLUS kits including peg transfer, cutting a circle, needle transfer & guidance, knot tying & suturing. Thereafter, components and operating principles of Da Vinci surgical robotic system (patient cart, vision cart and console) were presented. In addition, they had hands-on training with Da Vinci simulators with the robotic exercises including sea spikes, 0 degree camera use, vessel energy dissection, energy pedals, knot tying and vertical defect suturing.
Trainees watched a live robotic NVB sparing prostate cancer surgery procedure performed by Prof.A.Erdem Canda. This procedure included ICG guided pelvic LN dissection. Initially, Prof.Barbaros Erhan Çil form the Department of Interventional Radiology performed TRUS gudided transperineal prostatic ICG injection. Thereafter, ICG guided pelvic LN dissection via Firefly was performed. ICG positive LNs were identified and excised initially. Thereafter, robotic radical prostatectomy procedure was completed.
